Surf & Turf Delight with Creamy Mash and Asparagus 🥩🦐🥔

Ingredients:

 • 1 New York strip or ribeye steak

 • 4-5 jumbo shrimp (peeled & deveined)

 • 1 bunch asparagus

 • 2 cups mashed potatoes

 • 2 tbsp butter

 • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

 • 1 tbsp olive oil

 • Salt & black pepper

 • Chopped chives for garnish

 • Optional: pan sauce (made from steak drippings + a splash of broth or wine)

Instructions:

 1. Prep the Sides:

 • Boil potatoes, mash with butter, salt, and a splash of cream.

 • Blanch asparagus in boiling water for 2 min, then grill/sauté until slightly charred.

 2. Cook the Steak:

 • Season steak with salt, pepper, and garlic.

 • Sear in hot pan 3-4 min per side for medium rare. Baste with butter.

 • Let rest before slicing.

 3. Cook the Shrimp:

 • In same pan, add a bit more butter or oil.

 • Sauté shrimp for 2-3 min until pink and slightly crisp. Season lightly.

 4. Pan Sauce (optional):

 • Deglaze pan with a splash of broth or wine, reduce, stir in butter.

 5. Assemble:

 • Plate mashed potatoes first, top with steak slices and shrimp.

 • Add asparagus on the side, drizzle with sauce, and sprinkle chives.
